Not 2 Shaggy Housecall Dog Grooming is back volunteering in Beaufort County Animal Shelter. It was time for Cody to get a touch up. The second time around was definitely better than the first.  As a result, I was able to get more accomplished.

Cody is an athletic young pup who is a challenge to groom. Oh my, he has a natural fit whenever you go near his feet.  He does not like the clippers near his head, and this hound hates... with a capital "H".... the blow dryer.  In short, there is not much about his grooming session that he was looking forward to.  None the less, this grooming session was much better that the first.

Breaking the grooming session into a two day affair helped tremendously.  The first day we ran out of time.  Day two, Cody was way more compliant because the routine was getting to be more familiar.  The end result was a smoother finish.  

Housecall clients who have pups like Cody should consider scheduling two day grooming sessions that are shorter to help familiarize your fur baby to the grooming process.  This is particularly recommended for dogs who have never experienced grooming or dogs who have a low tolerence for grooming.  The more frequent the housecall grooming session the more relaxed and trusting your hound will become and the better results you will see with each progressive private grooming session.
